Hey y’all! If your home is anything like mine, Super bowl Sunday is a holiday. Possibly the most important holiday. What does every good holiday party (no large parties this year obviously because Covid) have? Food. Delicious food you talk about for months to come.
Here is a list of my absolute favorite tried and true Super Bowl Sunday recipes for this momentous occasion. All of these foods are easily picked up with one hand or chip so you can even hold your perfect Lil Helper while enjoying them! (But still, don’t forget to put out some extra biggie bibs and wipes to save yourself from any mess!)
Super Bowl Sunday Recipe 1: The pull apart bread
If you’ve never had delicious cheesy garlicky pull apart bread, you’ve been missing out. It is so so simple to make and ridiculously delicious. Here is a great Super Bowl Sunday Recipe for pull apart bread!
1 large loaf of French, Italian or sourdough bread (I used a round loaf that weighed just under 2 pounds)
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
1 teaspoon garlic salt
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 to 4 teaspoons fresh minced garlic
8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
8 ounces Swiss cheese, shredded
8 slices bacon, cooked until crisp and diced into small pieces
Fresh parsley or chopped green onions for garnish, optional
- Place oven rack just below the center position. Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Lay bread on a cutting board. Use a bread knife to make diagonal cuts down through the top of the bread, leaving the crust intact. Repeat across the entire surface of the bread, making the cuts approximately one inch apart. Turn the bread 90 degrees and make a set of perpendicular cuts. When you are finished, the surface of the bread should be cross-hatched into 1-inch squares.
- Stir garlic salt into melted butter. With a basting brush, basting syringe, or spoon, drizzle the melted butter down into the bread between all of the cracks until all butter has been used.
- In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Use the side of a knife or the back of a spoon to mash minced garlic into somewhat of a paste. Mix garlic into cream cheese. Stir in cheddar, Swiss, and diced bacon and mix until well blended. Stuff clumps of cheese mixture down into all of the cracks of the bread.
- Lay a long piece of foil on the counter horizontally, and then lay a second long piece of foil on top of it vertically. Center the stuffed loaf of bread on the foil and wrap. Bake for 20 minutes, then open up the top of the foil and bake for another 10 minutes or until cheese is entirely melted. Watch carefully once foil is open to ensure that the top of the bread is not browning too much. Serve hot.
Recipe 2: Hot wings

- 1 lb chicken wings split into flats and drummettes
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp garlic salt
- 1 tsp lemon pepper
- Thoroughly pat dry chicken wings with paper towels and place in a mixing bowl.
- Coat in 1 Tbsp oil then sprinkle on 2 tsp garlic salt and 1 tsp lemon pepper. Toss to evenly coat with seasoning.
- Place on air frying basket, spacing evenly and air fry at 400˚F for 8 minutes per side, or a total of 16 minutes, or until chicken wings are crisp and golden brown on the outside

Super Bowl Sunday Recipe 3: Rotel dip

- 16 ounces Velveeta
- 10 ounce can Rotel (seasoned, canned tomatoes)
- 1 pound hamburger
- Brown hamburger in a skillet until cooked
- Add cubes of Velveeta cheese and the can of Rotel
- Stir thoroughly until melted
- Serve with chips, crackers, or veggies
Recipe 4: Sliders
Again, handheld foods are mankind’s greatest contribution especially for Super Bowl Sunday Recipes. Personally, I like pulled pork sliders. You put a pork butt into your crock pot, let it cook with spices and boom just stack and go. - 5 pounds pork shoulder butt roast
- 3 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 large onion quartered
- 3/4 cup cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- In a small bowl mix together brown sugar, salt, paprika, pepper, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, ground mustard and cayenne pepper. Rub all over pork.
- Add pork to the slow cooker. Add the onions along the sides. Add cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and sugar.
- Cook on low for 12 hours. Shred with two forks. Serve on buns with creamy coleslaw if desired.
Full disclosure: I’ve made this and it’s delicious. I usually prefer to buy a store bought mix though and toss it in with some onions and I call that a day. I have two young kids and getting together more than 2 ingredients is sometimes just not feasible. It has turned out delicious both ways!
Super Bowl Sunday Recipe 5: Macaroni & cheese bites
These are always a hit with kiddos and it’s sooo easy to add veggies into it if you want! Plus, mess free! I call that a touchdown in my book.
- 2 cups elbow pasta
- 2tablespoons panko crumbs
- 2 tablespoons fresh grated parmesan
- 1½ teaspoons oil olive oil, canola oil or vegetable oil
- 4 tablespoons butter melted
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic or 3 cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup milk
- 1 cup cheddar shredded
- 1 cup gruyere shredded
- 1 large egg
- salt and pepper to preference
- herbs to garnish
- Preheat oven to 425° F. Line or grease muffin tin or mini muffin tin.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente (slightly undercooked). Drain.
- In a small bowl, combine panko crumbs, parmesan and oil. Set aside.
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Whisk in flour and stir about 1 minute. Add heavy cream and milk. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, whisking continuously until thickened (approximately 3-5 minutes). Remove from heat.
- Stir in cheese until melted. Stir in egg.
- Add drained pasta and toss to combine.
- Scoop mac and cheese into muffin tins. Sprinkle with panko topping.
- Bake 18-20 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste and garnish with herbs to serve.
I like to add cauliflower to the cheese sauce! I cut it up really small or yes the food processor and you can’t even taste it!
