Erin here. One of the things I’ve learned is that if you’re not intentional, life can pass you by. It’s easy to get stuck in a rut or a cycle of repeating the same day over and over. Creating a bucket list of things you want to do can help you live more intentionally.
A lifetime bucket list can feel overwhelming, so creating a seasonal bucket list is much more doable. This post will give you a template for making your own seasonal bucket list.
1. Do Something in Service to Another
It’s important to pay it forward and give back. Come up with something each season that you can do for someone else. This could be a donation to a cause that’s important to you, buying the person in front of you’s order in the drive-thru, or donating your time or skills to an organization. Even offering a new parent some time to nap while you watch their kids can make a difference.
2. Do Something by Yourself
It’s important to be comfortable with yourself and to make time for yourself. Go for a walk, grab a cup of coffee, or treat yourself to a fancy meal. Watching TV or reading a book are great options too, but be creative and branch out.
3. Find and Try a Seasonal Recipe or Treat
Hop onto Pinterest and find a seasonal recipe to try. Visit your local farmers market for tasty treats or check if your favorite eatery has a seasonal flavor you’d like to sample.
4. Explore an Area You’ve Never Been
This exploration can be as big as traveling far away or as simple as being a tourist in your own town. Check out your nearest tourist information office or social media pages for local events and attractions.
5. Learn About Something New
Take time to explore new topics or learn about yourself. Whether it’s learning about making the switch to reusable sanitary products like cloth diapers or period padsor taking an ancestry DNA test, there are so many things to discover.
6. Create Something
This could be anything from a recipe to a seasonal wreath for your front door. You might also enjoy planting a garden or writing a song. Being creative is good for self-care and results in something meaningful.
7. Support a Local or Charitable Business
Look for local artists or businesses that need support. This could be a fun way to discover new places while contributing to your community.
8. Plan Something Outdoors
Make time to enjoy the outdoors, whether it’s going to a festival or zip-lining through the mountains. Spending time outside is great for both the mind and body.
9. Make a Connection
While it’s important to enjoy time alone, connecting with others is equally vital. Challenge yourself to reconnect with someone or make a new connection.
10. Do Something for Your Health
Consider setting a health challenge, like walking 10,000 steps a day or increasing your water intake. Take care of your mental and spiritual health as well.
So there you have it! Here’s your template for creating your own seasonal bucket list. Don’t feel limited to just one thing in each category; feel free to branch out and explore!
