International Women’s Day - (Re)Introducing Pat’s Purple!

In celebration of International Women's Day, we want to share with you a story. How one of our colors got it’s name. A story that is near and dear to our hearts here at Lil Helper.

How ‘Pat’s Purple’ Came to Be

A while back, one of our Ambassadors posted an image of her little one in a purple diaper. She remarked that her mom, who passed very suddenly a couple months back, loved purple and would have been thrilled to see her little grandchild rocking it.

That post set into motion a mission. We had to honor the memory of her mom in a very special way. We reached out to her, got her permission and made a plan to rename our newest purple. From now on, it will be known as Pat's Purple. 💜

A Story of Love & Support from One of Our Ambassadors

Here are a few words from Jesse about her beautiful mother and the legacy she left:

"My mom, Pat, was the essence of what a mother’s love should be. She was encouraging, fiercely proud, protective and loving beyond all measure. She was a strong, outspoken, and resilient woman. I will be forever grateful she was all of those things, as she helped shape me into the mother I am today.

If you knew her, you knew her favorite color was purple, and you also knew exactly where you stood with her (but she probably loved you). My mom believed women can do anything men can do (but better) and that having and raising children is one of the most rewarding and difficult things any person can do (and she did it three times over). She was my biggest advocate in all that I did. She supported me wholeheartedly when I told her I wanted to cloth diaper and loved how easy cloth diapering had become since she had babies of her own (her only complaint was that I didn’t have a purple diaper yet). I ordered the newest purple cover as soon as I could after it came out. She would have adored it, and I feel a little closer to her every time I put my son in it.

When Sophia reached out to me about renaming the newest purple after her, I knew it was a heartwarming and amazing way to honor her memory. The best way to honor her memory, though, is for all of us to love our children with the same fierceness she had in her love for my brother, sister, and I, as well as her grandchildren. When all is said and done, it’s that love that keeps us going. Our family is so grateful to Lil Helper for helping us share her story and her love with the rest of you.

I love you, Mom. As long as I’m living, your baby I’ll be. 💜💜💜"
